Martin BELOU "L'eau seule" Galerie Catherine Issert, Saint-Paul de Vence 13 mai au 24 juin 2023 À partir du 13 mai 2023, Martin Belou investit la galerie Catherine Issert pour y présenter sa plus récente production. À la croisée de l’installation et de la sculpture, l’artiste invente des espaces à la fois accueillants et intrigants, où se mêlent éléments naturels et objets usuels. Ses pièces créent des situations et invitent tout le corps et la mémoire du spectateur à dialoguer, en réactivant des pratiques communes ancestrales. Il y est question de partage du sensible, dans des univers où l’humain et le non-humain coexistent en une étonnante symbiose. L’artiste, dont l’œuvre est indissociable du travail par le feu, tisse ici un monde aquatique autour d’une figure symbolique féconde : celle du poisson. « … aucun monde n’est possible sans la verticalité … » (Mircea Eliade, Le Sacré et le Profane, 1965)

From May 13th, 2023, Martin Belou joins the Galerie Catherine Issert to present his most recent production. At the crossroads between installations and sculpture, the artist invents spaces both welcoming and intriguing, where natural and everyday objects rub shoulders. His pieces create situations and invite the spectator's entire body and memory to enter into a dialogue, thus reactivating shared ancestral practices. Here it is a matter of sharing sensitivity, in worlds in which the human and non-human coexist in astonishing symbiosis.
